Back...all new and improved

Sorry for the absence, gang...but Officer Krupke had to go back to school for a bit.

Exit Officer Krupke--enter SERGEANT Krupke.

That's right--I am now a patrol sergeant, with a squad of 24 officers (and two Corporals, thankfully) under my command. Adding to the fun: almost half of this squad are new rookies right out of the academy.

Oh, I've already got stories, and more are coming every day. So stand by and I'll get them all posted here as soon as I can.

Well done, Sarge! Do us all a favor, though, and don't take the LT test, okay?

That frontal lobotomy they give you will fuck up your blogging skills beyond belief!

Cheers and stay safe!

Congrats for being willing to step up and assume responsibility for others, and be prepared for fecal matter rolling down hill. If you're department is anything close to mine, here is an example of what you'll get:

"Yeah, great job by your team on all those felony arrests last month, but your guys only handed out 20 advisory forms. They need to pick that up."

Don't try to throw reason into the mix, either. You know, "More time on FELONY arrests and the subsequent time spent on the paperwork means less time for citizen advisories."

Just say, "Yessir" and drive on.

I made Sgt. twelve years ago and I have no desire to ever test for Lt. Patrol Sgt. is the best job in any police department, IMO.
